Pittsburgh Wedding Planner | Ryan + Michelle

SHE started our 10th year strong with an amazing wedding celebration for an even more incredible couple, Ryan & Michelle Shazier. For those that don’t know this couple, Ryan is a Pittsburgh Steeler, who suffered a severe spinal cord injury in December of 2017 during a Steeler game against the Bengals. After undergoing extensive surgery, Ryan began his road to recovery & ultimately walking again with Michelle confidently standing by his side + encouraging him each day.

During this recovery time, Ryan & Michelle were supposed to be getting married in Ryan’s hometown of Miami, but ultimately postponed their big day. A few months later, SHE stepped in + helped Ryan + Michelle plan their dream wedding day that they most definitely deserved.

The day started with a beautiful ceremony inside the Pennsylvanian in downtown Pittsburgh. The altar consisted of a stage surrounded by 4 large cherry blossom trees + a gold mirrored aisle. After the ceremony, guests ventured outside under the rotunda while the SHE team + our incredible vendor friends flipped the ceremony space to make it part of the reception.

With such a large guest list + family + friends from all areas of life, Ryan + Michelle decided not to have a seating chart, but instead created a cocktail reception where their guests could progress through the space to the different food stations + mix + mingle with each other. The ceremony stage was then transformed into the DJ booth, where later in the night both Michelle + Ryan took a turn as DJ…+ kept the crowd dancing all night!

SHE was so honored to create a fabulous wedding + reception for Ryan + Michelle + we wish them many more years of love + happiness.

Pittsburgh Wedding Planner | Marcia + David

Marcia + David’s wedding was the sweetest way to end {SHE}’s 2018 season. Not only was their wedding in Hershey Pennsylvania, home of the famous Hershey kiss, but their celebration lasted two days + brought us into 2019. Their ceremony was a romantic dream with floor to ceiling draping + a gorgeous platform stage + chuppah. After the ceremony, the guests enjoyed a long cocktail reception where they listened to the sounds of The Sterling Strings, a four string group from New York.

The next day, New Years Eve, was when the real party took place. Guests were transported to the Hershey Country Club for a moving cocktail reception. Not sure what a moving cocktail reception is, let {SHE} explain. The party starts in one room with food + beverage stations, then after awhile a door is opened to another two rooms where there is even more food + beverages. After a few speeches + a lot of delicious food, guests traveled to the final room where there was a massive dance floor, a balcony to watch fireworks, an amazing assortment of custom desserts + two DJ’s to keep guests dancing all night long. It was a party to remember + {SHE} was so happy to create this amazing celebration for our sweet couple Marcia + David.

Pittsburgh Wedding Planner | Alex + Michael

Pittsburgh meets the Netherlands was the wedding vibe Alex + Michael wanted so {SHE} made it happen! This beautiful wedding mix was inspired by the Groom’s family background + the Brides hometown. This wedding was the perfect way to give their guests a glimpse of the groom’s family history while still keeping things stylish + sleek! {SHE} loved doing this Delft inspired wedding!

Alex + Michael’s wedding was on a snowy day mid-January but that didn’t stop this couples special day! The ceremony was simple + elegant with large statement pieces from Hens + Chicks. The blue + white florals complimented the bride’s gown perfectly. Hens + Chicks made the reception even more amazing with their floral centerpieces in custom delftware. The blue palette really made guests feel like they were in the Netherlands! Mastro Ice’s custom AHM ice sculptures added some spice to the room wowing everyone! The details were perfect + so was the Elite Show Band keeping Alex + Michael’s friends + family entertained. This wedding was one for the books! {SHE} had fun planning every minute of it. Congrats to Mr. + Mrs. Hugens!

Pittsburgh Wedding Planner | Sarah + Wouter

Sarah + Wouter’s love story is a special one that centered around family + tradition. They met as collegiate tennis coaches + formed a fast friendship that quickly turned to love. Their cocktail hour + reception combined the family + tradition aspects, as it was held on Sarah’s family’s gorgeous estate. Years ago, the Short family built the most amazing barn on their property for their kids to get married in + to date, Sarah was the second out of four children to get married at the barn.

When guests arrived to the property, they grabbed their hanging escort card + made their way to the cocktail hour where Sarah + Wouter arrived in the coolest vintage red Mustang. After cocktail hour, guests traveled a few short feet to the Short family’s barn that was decorated with gorgeous greenery + flowers created by the florist, GreenSinner + immediately had a dance set to get the night started. It was a perfect night full of memories that Sarah + Wouter will never forget!

Pittsburgh Wedding Planner | Kay + Mike

Kay + Mike are truly each other’s best friend! On the morning of their wedding day, Kay + Mike both got ready in the same room. As best friends + soon to be husband + wife they could not imagine getting ready separately on such an important day. Their ceremony + reception was held at The Mansions on Fifth in mid December. The weather outside was cold but the mood inside was full of warmth + love. The red, gold + green palette created a romantic holiday vibe as each dining room had beautiful greenery + candlelight from The Blue Daisy Floral to complete the look. It was a perfect night for Kay + Mike as guests danced the night away to the sounds of The Bachelor Boys. {SHE} was so happy to create a magical night for our lovely couple!
